2019 Mercedes S Class - Poor Quality File Fix

Something we see more and more often at TuningWorx!

Here we have a Mercedes S Class suffering with high soot content on the DPF filter in the exhaust after taking the car to another company for an Adblue Solution…

As you can see in the photos, the soot content was on 21.5G when the maximum it should have is 14G!

What is the root cause of this?

Although the previous tuner had carried out the correct steps to do things properly, the issue is down to the ECU file that was uploaded.

Time and time again, we see people use Automated Solutions on Mercedes cars. Although Automated solutions can work really well on lots of cars out there, Mercedes cars require a really good quality manual solution applied to them.

If this has been done incorrectly, the DPF filter will not regenerate, causing the car to suffer with issues like this one.

Once we had uploaded a good quality file for the vehicle, we were then able to take the car for a road test. Once the car was up to temperature and without the aid of a forced regeneration, the car now successfully regenerates by itself and no more DPF issues.

Another successful job for TuningWorx
